a trailer that makes a suspense
Damien Chazelle is present in the festival, the director of “Wiplash” and the Oscar winner for his film “La La Land” thinks that this film (Babylon) was the hardest to shoot during his career.
The film was shot in and around Los Angeles, including on the Paramount studios.
The story takes place in the late 1920s in Hollywood during the transition from the silent film industry to talking films, Babylon explores the rise and fall of several characters and has been described as “The Great Gatsby on steroids”.
Chazelle launched a trailer for the audience, which is a noisy non-stop party with messy-haired Margot Robbie opening the trailer by talking to new comer Diego Calva, saying, “I just want everyone to part up forever.” (Chazelle said the trailer would debut online tomorrow.)
The spot then shows a noisy non-stop party that includes, but is not limited to, a leash alligator, heavy drug use, women and Pitt shooting multiple guns, dancing in their underwear and falling off a balcony. All this is supported by a sound landscape of big band maniac.
Pitt has a pointed mustache and oiled hair, first saying on the screen: “When I first moved to L.A., signs on all the doors said: ‘No actor and no dog is allowed.'”
The trailer ends with Robbie at another pool party, shouting to the crowd: “Who wants to see me fight a fucking snake?” Pitt holding a bottle of whiskey yells back : “Damn yeah!”
The ensemble cast includes Jovan Adepo, Flea, Jean Smart, Olivia Wilde and Samara Weaving, among others.
